ANC 5B09 meeting with Walmart representatives!
On Thursday March 24th, 2011, at 6:00pm in the Arboretum Recreation Center (2412 Rand Place NE), please join Commissioner Manning, constituents of ANC 5B09, Arboretum Neighborhood Association. and ANC 5B for a joint meeting with the representatives of Walmart.

Pittsburgher turns Washingtonian.
Mr. Bennett has been a resident of D.C. for 25 years, and has lived in Ward 5 for 10 years. From 91 - 97 Mr. Bennett spent his time fighting fires with the DCFD. For three years he was stationed at the busiest engine company in the country, Engine 10, located at: 1342 Florida Ave., NE. (the company would average 25- 35 calls per day!)
Mr. Bennett has established relationships with many other community-based organizations. As a result, many flourishing children and youth chess programs have been developed and implemented throughout the District of Columbia. Some of Mr. Bennetts recent collaborators and partners include: The Washington International School, the Maret School, the Lab School, Cesar Chavez Public Charter High School, Moten Center, Hardy Middle School, DC Department of Human Services Income Maintenance Administration (IMA), Stanton Elementary School, DC Pubic Libraries, Beacon House, Howard University, Higher Achievement Program (HAP), Vietnamese Community Center, Calvary Multicultural Bilingual Learning Center, Hamilton Center, Evans Middle School, Washington Tennis and Education Foundation (WTEF), Washington Middle School for Girls, H.D. Cooke Elementary School, Bruce Monroe Elementary School, D.C. Village, Academic Empowerment Learning Center, Jelleff Boys and Girls Club, and 2nd Baptist Church.
